Check out this behind the scenes video from Victoria Beckham’s Elle cover shoot!

Looking stunning in Burberry on the March cover of fashion bible Elle, Victoria Beckham tells the magazine about her insecurities, her family dynamic and her work ethic.

On her work ethic:

“It was never my intention to prove anybody wrong. I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it. I don’t have to work, I need to work. All these people [her fellow fashion designers], they’ve not just been given anything. They’ve worked hard. And I’ve never been given anything either. But I have a good work ethic; David has an incredible work ethic. I want my kids to have a good work ethic. I believe you can achieve anything if you work hard enough to get it.

You’ve got to trust people. And because I am a control freak, sometimes that’s difficult for me, because I want to micro-manage absolutely everything. I can’t hand over. But I’m trying to do that more. It’s hard because I have such a specific vision.”

On the Spice Girls and insecurities:

“When I was on stage with the Spice Girls, I thought people were there to see the other four and not me. And when I go out with David and people take pictures I think, ‘They’re here to take David’s picture.”

On her kids:

“You know what they say to me, because I’m not the best cook, although I try really hard? They always say to me, ‘Mummy, we know that the main ingredient in what you make is love’.”

The full interview appears in the March issue of Elle magazine, on sale January 30.

Daley says Beckham’s Texts Helped Him Win Medal | Jamie Tuohy

Tom Daley has revealed that David Beckham sent his texts of encouragement and support after he missed out on a medal in the synchronised 10m diving event with partner Pete Waterfield.

Tom, who went on to win a bronze medal in the men’s 10m platform diving final on Sunday has said that Beckham told him to keep his “chin up” and to concentrate on his next event.

He said, “David was asking how I’ve been feeling, giving me advice about what to take out of the synchro. He was kind of asking me the right questions, telling me it’s not that bad and that I can come back.”

Beckham was there on Sunday to watch the final with his sons and the footballer looked ecstatic when Tom finished up in third place. The pair met up after the event and were delighted to chat with each other.

Beckham was not the only celebrity to wish Daley well, as Tom’s Twitter was inundated with messages of support from stars such as Cheryl Cole, Rosie Hunnigton-Whiteley, Louis Tomlinson, James Cordon and many more.

Beyonce and Jay Z are Forbes Top Earning Celeb Couple | Jamie Tuohy

Beyoncé and Jay Z have overtaken Gisele Bündchen and her husband Tom Brady as the world’s top-earning celebrity couple, taking home a whopping $78m in the last year alone.

Proving that even maternity leave can’t impinge on her earnings, according to Forbes’ 2012 list of the highest-paid celebrities, the power-couple have moved from second place to the top spot, thanks to royalties from Beyoncé’s music and House of Dereon fashion line, as well as her husband’s hugely successful collaborative tour, Watch the Throne with Kanye West.

Given that Beyoncé hasn’t worked all that much since giving birth to daughter Blue Ivy, in January of this year, the statistics are even more impressive and she even managed to bring home $2million more than her husband Jay Z, who added $38million to the couple’s wealth.

Last year’s top earners, Gisele Bündchen and her NFL player husband Tom Brady brought home an impressive $72million last year, and while Gisele remains as the world’s highest-paid model, both she and Tom were relegated into second place by the superstar musicians.

David and Victoria Beckham rounded up the top three, jumping up one place from last year, with a cool $54million added to the wealth of Brand Beckham. Thanks to David’s endorsement deals and contract with LA Galaxy, combined with the massive success of Victoria’s eponymous dress line, Posh ‘n’ Becks have seen their fortune rise significantly in the last year and Victoria is still raking in the royalties from her Spice Girl days.

Nice work if you can get it!

Victoria Beckham: “Fashion Stole My Smile” – Posh guest edits Glamour’s September Issue | Jamie Tuohy

Yesterday I blogged about footballing superstar David Beckham and how he made the cover of Esquire magazine’s September style special and today it is his wife’s turn. Victoria Beckham is not only on the cover of Glamour magazine’s September issue (the most EXCLSIVE AND IMPORTANT MONTH IN FASHION MAGS), but she has also added another string to her incredibly stylish bow, by guest-editing the American version of the style magazine.

Aged 38, Victoria Beckham has been in the media spotlight for nearly 20 years, finding fame with record-breaking girlband, the Spice Girls and in recent years, achieving critical acclaim as a world-renowned fashion designer.

Those who viewed the singer-turned-designer as merely a pouty WAG were forced to stand up and take notice, when she debuted her first dress collection in New York in 2009 and since then Victoria has gone on to wow and astound the notoriously hard to crack and cliquey fashion world.

In the September issue of American Glamour, the mother-of-four reveals that fashion has always been her first love and told the magazine how she “was always reading fashion magazines and always getting inspired by them as well.”

Mrs Beckham also opens up about why she never smiles in photographs, saying, “Do you know, I don’t know?! I actually used to smile a lot in pictures. I think I only stopped smiling when I got into fashion. [Laughs.] Fashion stole my smile! I’ve created this person. And I’m not saying that’s not me, but I wouldn’t say that’s the whole me. It’s an armour that goes up.”

She admits that her life is one big “juggling act” and confesses that she would “never say never” to having another baby. Asked about where she sees herself in five years, “Victoria tells Glamour that she wants her family to be “happy and healthy” and her empire to be expanding at a “steady pace”. Of course, she also takes the opportunity to tell us FOR THE MILLIONTH TIME (or something like that), that her business is “all about empowering women.”

Victoria was asked to be the first guest editor and according to Cindi Leive, the Editor-in-Chief of US Glamour, Victoria was “the only choice” because “when you think of fashion, style and the ability of a woman to be put together at any moment, you think of Victoria”. The designer said that seeing her ideas come to life on print was an exciting experience and she has even compiled her list of fashion “dos and don’ts, with no-no’s including “boat shoes (unless of course you’re designer Alber Elbaz or on a boat!), Bermuda shorts, nose rings, Crocs, and American tan tights.”

Doesn’t she look GORGEOUS in this soccer-mom style photoshoot? (Which, according to Victoria, was her idea, naturally)?

David Beckham Covers Esquire’s September Issue | Jamie Tuohy

David Beckham is easily one of the most stylish men in the world, so it doesn’t come as a great surprise to find him on the cover of Esquire magazine’s September style special. However the 37-year-old dad of four has said that he wants to be remembered primarily for his footballing career and everything else is secondary to that.

Having played for some of the biggest clubs in the world, as well as modelling for major fashion houses such as Armani, the LA Galaxy midfielder has merged the worlds of fashion and football together.

However, for Beckham, being remembered as a gifted sportsman is more important than any modelling achievements. He said, ‘I want to be remembered firstly as a good and successful footballer because that’s what I’ve done for many years. And then who knows after that?’

As one half of Brand Beckham, David has had plenty of exposure to the limelight which has afforded him to mingle with some of the biggest stars in the world; and he now lists Prince William as a personal friend. He told Esquire, ‘It’s a very normal relationship. With Harry as well. They’re very easy to get along with. They love their sport. William loves Aston Villa, unfortunately, which obviously I give him a bit of stick about.’

Beckham also revealed that his major success as a sportsman has put a lot of pressure on his children to follow in his famous footsteps. He said that people expect them to be champions just like him, saying, ‘There’s a lot of pressure on them. They go for try-outs and people automatically think David Beckham’s son is going to bend the ball in the top corner at the age of six.’

In the September issue of the magazine, David also reveals the secrets of his 13-year-long marriage to media powerhouse and fashion designer wife, Victoria, saying that while their kids are paramount, they always have dinner together at least once a week.

The full interview appears in the September issue of Esquire, which is on sale from tomorrow (August 2). For the exclusive video from the David Beckham Esquire shoot go to http://www.esquire.co.uk/2012/08/david-beckham/

Style Icon: David Beckham | Jamie Tuohy

When it comes to male style icons, there are a few names that always make the grade – James Dean, Steve McQueen and Frank Sinatra, but when we’re talking about 21st century fashion kings, one name always triumphs above the rest. Few would have thought that when David Beckham donned that infamous sarong in 1998 that he would emerge as one of the most influential and respected figures within the fashion industry. The ex-England captain and LA Galaxy footballer has become as widely recognised for his status as a fashion icon as he has for his action on the pitch. Undoubtedly, the footballer has been guided and groomed under the watchful eye of his style aficionado wife, Victoria (and we’re sure she was behind those matching Versace catsuits), but David Beckham has developed a signature style which has come to represent a generation.

Termed by Mark Simpson as one of the world’s first high profile metrosexuals, David Beckham is accredited with bringing the unlikely worlds of sport and fashion together. This is what makes Beckham such an important player on the international fashion scene – his masculinity isn’t compromised by his love of style. There is a fearlessness to his look which is to be admired, but there is also an accessibility to his style which makes it easy to see why so many men can relate to his look and learn from it. Whether the world’s most famous footballer is wearing jeans and t-shirt or a bespoke suit, he always looks well put together. In this sense, David Beckham’s style is apparently based on a contradiction – the melange of carefree nonchalance and high end fashion. However, this is why his image has become so iconic – he will wear a vintage Adidas sweatshirt with tailored suit trousers and make it look as if these two items were always meant to be worn together.

Okay, when your wife is one of the most photographed women in the world and an international fashion designer, not to mention the innumerable designers tripping over their well-heeled shoes to dress you, it’s not exactly hard to cultivate a stylish disposition. However, the basics of David Beckham’s look are very attainable – chunky cardigans, white t-shirts, distressed jeans, boots, aviator shades, topped off with that ubiquitous beanie. David is confident enough in his own masculinity to take trends and integrate them into his own signature style. The ‘half tucked in, half out’ shirt has been a construct of Mr Beckham himself, proving that the key to iconic status resides as much in your own confidence as it does in the threads you’re wearing.

David Beckham is the embodiment of the classic ‘rags to riches’ story – the Chingford lad who rose to global superstardom through his own talent, determination and self-belief. It’s no surprise that Beckham has surpassed the realm of being merely a footballer, and along with his wife Victoria has become one half of one of the most powerful brands in the world – Brand Beckham. With a plethora of advertising deals, his own range of underwear and an extremely fashion and business savvy wife supporting him, Beckham’s star will continue to rise, even after he has retired from international football. His grounded approach to life juxtaposed with his steely yet relaxed style has made David Beckham one of the world’s most foremost male fashion icons and an international brand.

David, we salute you!

Hair-y Styles comes out on top with new No.1 – Jamie Tuohy

Harry Styles has beaten off competition from the likes of Justin Bieber, George Lamb and David Beckham – in a battle of the hairstyles. Image

The One Direction star came out on top in the survey, revealing that the 18-year-old’s barnet is the most requested look in UK salons. The singer beat fellow teeny-bopper Justin Bieber, who came in third place, just behind David Beckham’s (yes, really) 50s style quiff.

George Lamb and Mark Ronson completed the top 5 with their unique styles and they were followed by Burberry model Eddie Redmayne, who came in 6th place, with Daniel Craig, Jamie Redknapp and Leonardo DiCaprio all featuring on the list.

Perhaps Harry has been using the power of his locks to woo his latest conquest – former Made in Chelsea star Caggie Dulop. Despite denials from 1D representatives, the two were spotted partying together at London’s Dosaria Club on Thursday night.

At 22-years-old, Caggie is only 5 years older than Harry – strange, considering the curly-haired singer’s much publicized affiliation for the older ladies!

Meanwhile, in between dominating the hair industry and honing his chat-up lines, Harry was recently spotted house-hunting in London’s prestigious Primrose Hill, in the hope of finding some bricks and mortar to invest his ever expanding bank balance in!
